Dragon Age The Veilguard has a difficult balancing act to juggle, but I’m more curious about the RPG’s direction than ever before

I’ve been sitting with the news that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will only carry over three decisions from Dragon Age: Inquisition for a few weeks now. The more I think about it, the more curious I am to discover Veilguard’s direction and what those choices will mean for the upcoming RPG. Right off the bat, it has to be said that carrying on a series like Dragon Age is far from simple. Not only is it home to rich lore, history, and a myriad of choices across a trio of distinctly different games, but it’s also been 10 years since the last entry came our way. In many ways, the next installment is a juggling act for BioWare, acting as an entry point for newcomers, a re-entry point for lapsed players who have been away from Thedas for a decade, and a continuation for long-time fans who have been eagerly waiting to return. As someone who’s been longing for answers to a lot of questions that past Dragon Age games left hanging in the air, I definitely fall into the latter category. A part …

For its 20th anniversary, Halo 2’s infamous E3 2003 demo that never made it into the final game is coming to Halo: MCC

That famous Halo 2 demo from E3 2003 is finally going to be playable later this year.More than a year before Halo 2 hit store shelves, publisher Microsoft debuted a full-fat nine-minute demo of the game at E3 2003 that made the already hyped shooter an even bigger event. But the entire demo’s mission and ideas like the winding city highways never saw the light of day and were scrapped as Bungie made last minute changes to the game.

How to complete the Destiny 2 NES006 quest

The Destiny 2 NES006 quest unlocks the final research upgrades for Failsafe but it’s a time-consuming quest as you’ve got to get a lot of kills. Although, before you even get to the killing part, you need to start the quest by following your Proximity Sensor Alert in one of the Echoes activities in Destiny 2, and this isn’t explained especially clearly. Once you do have the Minotaur weapon specimen in hand, you can go about completing your field research by using several weapons and damage types to kill enemies, so to get it done quickly, here are some tips for completing the Specimen ID: NES006 quest in Destiny 2.How to start the Destiny 2 Specimen ID NES006 quest Destiny 2 Echoes guidesDestiny 2 Planetary Assimilation Pistons

Helldivers 2 Major Order threatens players with a delay: you took Claorell and the bots didn’t like that, so defend it for 3 days or your space station gets pushed back

In Helldivers 2’s latest Major Order, high command confirms that the “peaceful and righteous liberation” of planet Claorell was a success. The thing is, the Automatons still haven’t gotten the message and are trying to snatch it back, so your new job is to fend off three big Automaton attacks over the next three days on Claorell. The kicker is that you’d better hold the planet and the Deep Mantle Forge Complex we need for our new Democracy Space Station, otherwise the DSS “will be delayed.” “Any unnecessary delay risks its discovery and attack; already, the Ministry of Truth has identified multiple Automaton cyberattacks on DSS-related servers,” the Major Order reads. “They do not appear to have discovered the project’s nature or location yet – but it is only a matter of time.” This is the first time in the ongoing DSS narrative arc that a Major Order has immediately doubled up on a planet, throwing players a bit of a twist. Great, now do it again, high command seems to…

How to redeem

Expired coupons

Throne and Liberty coupons provide players with a quick route to accessing supplies, so you can bolster your inventory without having to put in any additional work. They often include Growth Stones, which are used to level up your equipment and are hard to come by, making them particularly useful for those in the early stages of their adventure. It can be difficult to keep track of what codes are currently available, so I’ve rounded up all of the Throne and Liberty coupons along with instructions for how to redeem them.Active Throne and Liberty coupons At the time of writing there are currently three active Throne and Liberty coupons, though they are due to expire at the end of September 26 so unless you are in the Early Access then you may not get chance to redeem them:DCAMA920 – 20 x Rare Weapon Growth Stone, 20 x Rare Armor Growth Stone, 20 x Rare Jewelry Growth Stone, 3,000,000 x SolantDISCOPARTY0…

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 won’t offer early access to its campaign mode, breaking a new trend set by the latest Modern Warfare games

It’s bad news for anyone eager to dive into Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s campaign mode, as Activision has confirmed that for the first time in two years, players won’t be offered early access to the single-player story ahead of the first-person shooter’s multiplayer launch.Looking at Call of Duty’s recent releases, both Modern Warfare 2 and 3 (the 2022 and 2023 versions, respectively) offered fans who pre-ordered the games around a week of early access to their campaign modes. This was a move that went down well with many at the time, as it gave players the time to enjoy the story without feeling the need to rush into the multiplayer mode to make sure they didn’t fall behind with their PvP skills. However, publisher Activision has now confirmed that this won’t be happening this year for Black Ops 6.In a statement sent to Charlie INTEL, Activision says that the “team is fully focused on October 25,” and is “excited about all the game has to offer across Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies.…

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 doesn’t change one bard’s grisly fate, but I’m glad she’s dead

Within the first few hours of a Dark Urge playthrough, there are two signs that things aren’t about to go the way you planned. The first, infamously, happens if you so much as think about biting off poor Gale’s hand as he reaches for help through his portal. It’s an evil trick on Larian’s end – while you would expect to follow the dialogue to its natural conclusion, by either chickening out or doubling down with a dice roll to bite his hand off, your agency is snatched away. There’s a fade to black, a quick munch, and suddenly one of the game’s main characters is permanently dead. But if that feels underhanded, what comes next is outright devious. Early in Act One, friendly tiefling bard Alfira visits the party’s camp, bright-eyed and keen to follow your adventure. She sleeps at camp, but come morning, the Dark Urge wakes up next to her mutilated body, drenched in blood after subconsciously tearing her to shreds. Unlike Gale, in which do-gooders will have avoided merely by n…

The Baldur’s Gate 3 mod that lets you add every companion to your party is about to get even more chaotic

Patch 7 has finally arrived to Baldur’s Gate 3, and it looks like Larian Studios was as eager as the community to try out some of the newly officially integrated mods – including the popular party limit remover, a mod that’s about to get even better. One of the “very first” mods, as publishing director Michael “Cromwelp” Douse reveals in a recent post, that Larian tested publicly post Patch 7 was one that axes the pesky party limit in Baldur’s Gate 3. Created by PixellBytes and aptly dubbed the “Adjustable Party Limit” mod, it allows fans to add any and every companion to their adventuring crew. At first glance, this could put the game’s difficulty balance at risk.Tackling goblins with eight people is easier than proving victorious with just four, after all. Not for long, though – as PixellBytes describes in a comment on Larian’s playthrough with the Adjustable Party Limit mod enabled, adjustable difficulty is underway: “If anyone is worried about the effect this mod might have on balan…
